Bigg Boss Tamil 4 will see Rio Raj, Sanam, Rekha, Bala, Anitha Sampath, Aari Arjuna, Velmurugan, Jithan Ramesh, Ramya Pandiyan, ‘Aranthangi’ Nisha, Gabriella, Somashekar, Aajeedh Khalique, Suresh Chakravarthy, Samyuktha and Shivani Narayanan trapped inside a house for no less than 100 days.
Kamal, who has been with the show since its inception, had recently stated that he is excited to go back to the sets and shoot the show. In one of the teasers for Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4, the actor said, “The disease is dangerous. Of course, we have to be safe. But we can’t continue to remain in the house. We will follow the safety guidelines of WHO. Let’s get back to work.” It is worth noting that the reality show would have aired in July itself had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic.
According to various reports, adequate safety measures and precautions have been taken given the pandemic. All the contestants, as well as host Kamal Haasan, have taken the COVID-19 test before entering the set. The contestants were reportedly quarantined in the same hotel for two weeks before participating in the show.

Bigg Boss gathers everyone in the living area and gives a warm welcome. Bigg Boss sets the ground rules for everyone on the show. It goes something like: "Mind it, it is not your house. It's my house and my rules. So don't think your stay will be as comfortable as your time in your homes during lockdown." The contestants will not have access to all things in the house. "There will be always a partial lockdown in the house," says the Bigg Boss. And he stokes the fire by reminding that, "Only one of you will win this season. So just play for yourself."
And that's the end of the grand launch of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4. And Kamal Haasan's bid goodbye until next time. There won't be an evection at the end of the first week. Of course, the contestants will not know that. So we can expect to see the regular nomination process during Monday's episode, which will sow the seeds of discord among the housemates. The showrunners have put together an interesting bUNCH of contestants and surprisingly all are likeable at face value. And that should make picking our favourites a little hard.

Samyuktha is the 14th contestant of the Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4. She is the mother of a 4-year-old, and she is also a social media influencer who promotes fitness for mothers. Also, she is an entrepreneur and runs a few business ventures. After she enters the house, she is met with a challenge, which is usually faced by those who enter the house last: all the best beds are taken already.
As expected actor Ramya Pandiyan enters Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4. She played the female lead in director Raju Murugan’s critically acclaimed movie Joker. But, she became an internet sensation last year, when her pictures from a photoshoot went viral.
This is probably the biggest ever opening Kamal Haasan has given to anyone. He explains about the growing culture of stand-up before introducing the 12th contestant, 'Aranthangi' Nisha. She gained fame after participating in season 5 of Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru. She also became a regular feature in Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru Champions. Also, Kamal appreciates Nisha for her rescue efforts during the Cyclone Gaja.
Gabriella is the eleventh contestant of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4. "Dancing is like my both eyes," she says explaining the importance of dancing in her life. Gabriella played Shruti Haasan's kid sister in 3 (2012). "I will tell your sister (Shruti Haasan) about you," Kamal Haasan jokes.
Somashekar is the tenth contestant of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4. He is a practising mixed martial artist who is trying to make it big in show business. He says the last 10 years has been insignificant and he believes that Bigg Boss Tamil will mark a new beginning in his life. He hopes that the show will help him catch up with all developments that didn't happen in the last 10 years. And yes, he says he's single and ready to mingle. Kamal Haasan seems to also have developed a soft-corner for Som. He seems to be winning hearts already.
Aari Arjuna is the ninth contestant of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4. He is known for his films like Aadum Koothu, Rettaisuzhi, Nedunchaalai and Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey. He is big-time into organic farming, and it seems the use of pesticide in farming is a very touchy subject for him. Beware, fellow contestants.
Kamal Haasan says that Vijay Music will be a great platform for independent musicians along with film music. "I always hoped for such a platform. In fact, I even prepared my daughter Shruti for such an opportunity by sending her abroad to study music. But back in the day, there was no such platform," he noted.
Well, that music band was a prelude to the launch of a new music channel called Vijay Music. Kamal Haasan launches it on the Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 stage.
