The controversial reality show returns with its fourteenth season tonight, and like always, a dozen contestants are ready to enter the house amid much fanfare. During the Bigg Boss 14 launch on Colors, Salman will introduce the housemates who will be putting their various skills and patience to test in the next 100 days. With movie theaters remaining shut since March and the audience being starved of entertainment, Bigg Boss 2020 is expected to fill a huge void in people’s lives.
The celebrities who are said to be entering the Bigg Boss 14 house include Jaan Kumar Sanu, Rubina Dilaik, Abhinav Shukla, Eijaz Khan, Rahul Vaidya, Gia Manek, Pavitra Punia, Nishant Singh Malkhani, Jasmin Bhasin, Sara Gurpal, Nikki Tamboli and Shehzad Deol. That’s not all. Former Bigg Boss contestants like Sidharth Shukla, Gauhar Khan and Hina Khan, who’ve already been promoting the latest season, will also be a part of the show with special powers in the game this time.
To maintain Covid-19 related precautions, the contestants of this season had to remain quarantined before entering the Bigg Boss 14 house. “The celebrities have already started the self-quarantine process. They have been put up in different hotels so that they do not find out who their co-housemates are. They are also shooting for their reality videos, and introductory performance for the premiere night. This season, there would be 12 contestants entering the house,” a source told indianexpress.com.
During the show’s virtual press launch recently, Salman Khan revealed his reasons for resuming working with Bigg Boss 14. Expressing concern about the aftermath of the long lockdown that halted all production work in tinseltown, the actor shared that he felt he needed to start working so that others could also earn. “The biggest reason that I am doing Bigg Boss is because I wanted people to start earning again. A lot many people died of COVID and also hunger. Bigg Boss has a big unit and gives employment to a lot of people,” Salman shared. The makers also hinted that the current season will be different from the past ones. Amenities like a theater, restaurant, spa and mall would give the contestants and viewers a chance to experience pre-lockdown luxuries. Salman remarked that Bigg Boss 14 is going to be a dream come true season for contestants.
Bigg Boss will air Monday-Friday at 10.30 pm and Saturday-Sunday at 9 pm on Colors. It will be available before TV exclusively on Voot Select.

Singer Kumar Sanu appealed to his fans to support his son Jaan Kumar Sanu, who is participating in Bigg Boss 14. In a video that he shared on Instagram, the singer said, "My son Jaan is going to Bigg Boss. He has all my well wishes and I want my fans to support him too. I want him to win the show. So, please bless him in his journey on the show."

Jaan Kumar Sanu, who is one of the contestants to enter Bigg Boss 14, told indianexpress.com, " I think Bigg Boss is a show which is very unpredictable and dynamic. If you go in with a fixed plan, you will end up losing it. All that my parents said was to be myself and not pretend. They also told me to stick to what’s right. Doesn’t matter if you have anyone by your side, if your intentions are pure, you will emerge victorious. I think last season, Sidharth Shukla also had the same mentality, and he won. I am also someone like him, so I am hoping that history would repeat itself."
Hina Khan, along with Sidharth Shukla and Gauahar Khan, will have some special powers in Bigg Boss 14. The actor, who will be a part of making some important decisions for the first 15 days of the show, will yet again impress her fans with her fashion statement.
Nikki Tamboli iwill stun the audience with her stunning performance in the premiere episode. She will also meet Salman Khan, the host of the reality show.
Nishant Malkhani is reportedly one of the contestants in Bigg Boss 14, which will be hosted by Salman Khan. Nishant was last seen in Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega, a series on ZeeTV.
Bigg Boss 14 premiere episode will witness a verbal spat between BB13 winner Sidharth Shukla and BB7 winner Gauahar Khan. During the episode, Salman Khan will turn judge as Khan and Shukla fight against each other in Bigg Boss Katghara (court). Who will win? Well, we will find out tonight at 9 pm.

Starting October 3, Bigg Boss 14 will air Monday-Friday on Colors at 10:30 pm and 9 pm on weekends. The audience can watch Bigg Boss 14 on Colors. The entire team of Bigg Boss 14 and the contestants of the reality show will be tested every week for coronavirus. The house and the peripheral area will be duly sanitized and fumigated.
During the launch of the show, Colors’ Chief Content Officer Manisha Sharma shared, “Even if someone has corona symptoms, the shoot has to be stalled. Bigg Boss is a real-time show, and we cannot take a risk. All contestants would be tested and quarantined before they enter the show. The crew will also be tested every weekend. We have taken all precautions and planned things, but in case someone falls sick, we would have to give cameras to contestants to shoot. It is going to be tough, but we are committed.”
Bigg Boss 14 host Salman Khan had recently introduced Jaan Kumar Sanu as the first contestant of the new season.
