UT of Pondy records 225 new Coronavirus positive cases, 2 die in past 24 hours

Puducherry, Oct 3 (UNI) As many as 225 more persons were tested positive for the Coronavirus and two patients died in the Union Territory since the last 24 hours.

There were 4,874 active cases ending at 10 AM on Saturday.

According to the COVID 19 status released by the health department here, 191 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, 21 in Karaikal region, 7 in Yanam region and 6 in Mahe region.

As many as 396 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours. Of them, 308 were from Puducherry region, 53 from Karaikal region, 23 from Yanam region and 12 from Mahe region.

One death each were reported in Puducherry and Karaikal region of the UT.

Presently, 1436 patients were being treated in Puducherry region,146 in Karaikal region,106 in Yanam region and 52 in Mahe region.

Another 3134 persons tested positive for the virus were getting treatment in home isolation in all the four regions of the UT.

So far, 28,752 persons were infected by the virus and of which 23,344 were treated and discharged, 534 died and 4874 patients were undergoing treatment in hospitals and home isolation.
