CTUs National Convention calls for General Strike on Nov 26 against anti-people, anti-worker policies of Centre

Hyderabad, Oct 3 (UNI) In the backdrop of the BJP-led NDA government’s increasing and aggravated attacks in the form of various anti-people, anti-worker and anti-farmer policies, Central Trade Unions (CTUs)---(INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF and UTUC) organized an online National Convention of workers on Friday and called a country-wide General Strike on November 26.
The CTU organized the National Convention of Workers to build up a country-wide struggle against these attacks.
All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) also participated in the Convention.
Thousands of workers attended the Convention through facebook and YouTube channels.
The Convention has also called the General Strike on other demands like Cash transfer of Rs 7500 per month for all non-income tax paying families, 10 kg free ration per person per month to all needy, expansion of MGNREGA to provide 200 days’ work in a year in rural areas at enhanced wages, extension of employment guarantee to urban areas, withdraw all anti farmer laws and anti-worker labour codes, stop privatisation of public sector including the financial sector and stop corporatization of Government run manufacturing and service entities like Railways, Ordnance Factories, Ports etc, withdraw the draconian circular on forced premature retirement of Government & PSU Employees, provide Pension to all, scrap NPS and restore earlier Pension and improve EPS-95.
Informing this to all its units and members, AIBEA General Secretary Ch Venkatachalam in a circular welcomed this struggle as a timely measure to resist the attacks that are being heaped on the working class.
AIBEA will shortly meet and give a call to join the General Strike, he added.
