Kabul, Oct 3 (UNI) At least seven Taliban militants were killed in two accidental explosions in Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province Friday night, provincial police office confirmed on Saturday.

"Three militants tried to plant an improvised explosive device (IED) along a road in Arghandab district Friday night to target security forces. After a while, the device detonated accidentally, killing the three on the spot," the police said in a statement.

Four militants were killed in neighboring Shah Wali Kot district when a vehicle they were traveling touched off an IED, setting off an explosion that claimed the lives of all militants aboard the vehicle, the statement said, Xinhua reported.
