Telangana reports 1,718 fresh Coronavirus positive cases, 8 deaths till Friday night

Hyderabad, Oct 3 (UNI) Telangana recorded 1,718 fresh COVID-19 positive cases till 2000 hours on Friday pushing the cumulative caseload to a whopping 1,97,327 so far.

With eight more Coronavirus deaths reported during the past 24 hours, the overall toll mounted to 1,153 with a case fatality rate of 0.58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.6 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin issued on Saturday.

As many as 2,002 patients had recuperated from the Coronavirus taking the total number of

recoveries in the state to 1,67,846 so far constituting a recovery rate of 85.05 per cent while the National recovery rate was 83.8 per cent, the bulletin said.

A total of 49,084 samples were tested between Thursday and Friday and of which the reports of 994 swab samples were awaited.

So far, 31,53,626 COVID-19 sample tests had been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The number of active cases in the state now stood at 28,328.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits continued to contribute maximum number of positive cases with 285 new cases being reported followed by Ranga Reddy district (129), Medchal Malkajigiri district (115), Karimnagar district (105) and Nalgonda district (103).

The remaining cases were registered from other districts in the state, the bulletin added.
