Polling is being held on Saturday for the election of Panch, Sarpanches in 1028 gram panchayats in 21 districts of Rajasthan.
State Election Commission Secretary Shyam Singh Rajpurohit said that in the second phase of panchayat elections, polling started at 7.30 am on Saturday which would run till 5.30 pm. Counting will take place after voting.
All security arrangements have been made to conduct polling peacefully. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to the authorities to observe the rules like following social distance and wearing masks in view of Coronavirus infection.
There are 34.06 lakh voters in the second phase. In the first phase, on September 28, voting was held in 947-gram panchayats. The third phase of voting will be on October 6 and the fourth phase will be on October 10.
