As per announcement, RJD will contest 144 seats, Congress 70 seats, CPI(ML) 19 seats, CPI 6 seats and CPM 4 seats while Congress will also contest by election for Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha seat. RJD will accommodate the claims of VIP and JMM from its own quota.

Mr Yadav while making the announcement in a press conference in presence of leaders of all constituents of grand alliance, said that people had made up their mind to oust Nitish Kumar government from the power and partners of the alliance had come on one platform for change of regime in the state in ongoing Bihar Assembly Elections. Nitish Kumar government had failed on all fronts including providing jobs to youths, opening new industrial units in the state, Health and Education sectors, he added.
