Raj HC stays order permitting pvt schools to collect 70 pc fee

Jaipur, Oct 3 (UNI) The Rajasthan High Court on Saturday stayed its earlier order permitting private schools in the state to collect 70 per cent of annual tuition fees.
It directed the schools to await court directions and not to take any coercive action against the students.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice Indrajit Mahanty and Mahendra Kumar Goyal was hearing pleas that challenged the High Court's earlier order, said, the fresh direction will remain in force till Friday, October 9.
The Court fixed the next hearing for Monday.
The state government, which is also a party in the appeal, said that the earlier decision to collect 70 per cent of the annual tuition fees chargeable, at the rate at which the fees were collected during the last academic year from the parents was baseless and had no grounds.
Pleading to quash the school fee, the petitioners argued that private schools did not give details to the court of the amount they had spent in schools during the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the Court's new order, no school can now collect fees from the parents presently.
