The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced its first list of candidates for the Bihar biennial MLC election 2020.
The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party has announced the names of five candidates from Bihar in this list. It has also announced the names of four candidates for the Legislative Council elections to be held in Karnataka.
NK Yadav has been nominated from Kosi Graduation seat in Bihar. Nawal Kishore Yadav's name has been announced for Patna teacher. Suresh Rai on Darbhanga teacher, Narendra Singh on Tirhut teacher and Moon Singh has been nominated for Saran teacher Constituency.
While in Karnataka, Chidanand M Gowda has been chosen from South-East Graduation Constituency, SV Sankanuru from West Graduation, Sasheel G. Namoshi North East Teacher, Puttanna from Bangalore Teachers Legislative Council constituency.
Voting for Bihar Legislative Council will happen on October 22. On Friday, the Election Commission of India announced the date for the election of four teachers constituency seats in the state and four graduate constituency seats.
In Karnataka the election will be held on October 28.
Meanwhile, Bihar is gearing up for the Assembly elections that will be held in three phases - October 28, November 3 and November 7.
In the first phase, 72 constituency seats will go to the polls while the second and third phases will see voting on 94 and 78 seats, respectively. Counting of the votes will happen on November 10.
