Policies are now not made on basis of number of votes: PM

New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said his government policies are not made on the basis of number of votes and added that his endeavour is to ensure that no Indian is left behind.

The country is now working with a new thinking. He reiterated his government's commitment to make all basic facilities available for the Dalits, tribals, victims and the deprived.

Addressing public meeting after inaugurating the worlds longest road tunnel in Rohtang, he said, the Atal tunnel symbolises the commitment of his government to ensure that the benefits of development reach out to each and every citizens.

The tunnel will transform the lives of people in the region, he said, adding that there is immense scope for tourism in this entire region. There is also an immense grace of nature and, with spirituality, there are amazing opportunities for faith-related tourism.

The Prime Minister said, the tunnel will also become the lifeline for Leh-Ladakh and it will remain open throughout the year as opposed to the valley being cut off for about six months every year amid heavy snowfall.
