Arunachal continues to witness spike in Covid-19 cases; death toll climbs to 18

Itanagar, Oct 3 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh continued to witness spike in Covid-19 cases with detection of 200 fresh infections , taking the state's tally to 10220, while two more deaths pushed the fatalities toll to 18.

On the other hand, 134 Covid-19 patients were discharged, taking the total recoveries in the state to 7183. The recovery rate is 70.28 per cent.

As per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS), out of the new cases, Itanagar Capital Complex (ICC) reported the highest at 87, followed by Anjaw 37 and West Siang 18.

Seven each cases were also reported from Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) and West Kameng, six each from Papum Pare and Tawang, five each from East Siang, Kurung Kumey and Upper Siang, four from Tirap, two each from Changlang, East Kameng and Leparada, one each from Upper Subansiri, Lower Siang, Longding and Lohit, it said.

Of 87 case from ICC, 20 reported from flu clinic, TRIHMS, Naharlagun, 18 from paid quarantine testing centre and 14 from flu clinic, RKM Hospital here, 11 from flu clinic, Niba Hospital, Naharlagun, seven from test centre SQF, Lekhi, five from testing centre CCC-SOA,Zoo area here, four from Frontier Diagnostic Lab, Naharlagun, three from Bnaderdewa check gate, three from flu clinic, Heema Hospital here and two from Helipad, Naharlagun.

Thirty-six among the 37 cases from Anjaw are GREF personnel while one is a primary contact of positive case detected earlier.

All the cases from West Siang are primary contacts of positive case detected earlier.

All the cases are asymptomatic except 16.
