Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has cleared out that the Bollywood awards show IIFA will not take place in Indore soon. Various news reports had declared that after being hosted in places like London, Singapore and Dubai, IIFA would now be hosted in Indore.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is the CM of MP, has however refuted the rumours. Clarifying why the awards show would not take place in Indore, Chouhan said that he does not like the 'tamasha' (circus) that is IIFA.
He further alleged that many celebrities have done 'vasooli' in the name of IIFA. 'IIFA ke naam par kin kin se raashi vasooli gayi,' MP CM Shivraj said in a statement.
Reports stated that IIFA was going to be held in Indore for the year 2020. The event was expected to take place from 27th to 29th March, but owing to the lockdown, the awards show was not hosted in the beginning of the year and is unlikely to be hosted now.
Another event related to IIFA was going to be hosted in Bhopal on March 21, but that too could not take place after everything came to a halt due to COVID-19. It was reported that Salman Khan and Riteish Deshmukh would have hosted the awards show.
