AmaZulu latest team to be sold as PSL flea market bustles

Dr Patrick Sokhela has sold AmaZulu to the Zungu Investment Company, the owner and chairman has revealed.

Usuthu becomes the latest club to sell up, following the purchase of Bidvest Wits by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and the sale of Highlands Park to TS Galaxy.

Sokhela told the club's official website: "I have been the owner and chairman of the AmaZulu for the past 16-years, and the time has come for me to pass the banner to a new owner.

"I believe the new owner will continue to grow the club in both status and stature as I have endeavored to do."

Chairperson of Zungu Investment Company, Sandile Zungu, will be the new owner of the club.

Sokhela added: "I cannot think of anyone better than Sandile Zungu to step into my shoes and continue the great legacy of this club."

AmaZulu is the oldest team in the Premier Soccer League with a history that spans over 88-years.

The sale of the club is subject to approval from the Premier Soccer League.
