Green light for standing at bars, Qld to open border Nov 1
Queenslanders will be allowed to eat and drink while standing at inside and outdoor venues as the government prepares to open its border to NSW.
Standing at venues will come into effect from 4pm on Friday, October 2.
A new roadmap, released by the government on Friday morning, reveals Queensland will reopen to all of NSW on November 1 provided the state goes 28 days without any mystery COVID-19 cases.
NSW is on track to meet the 28-day target on October 22.
From November 1, gatherings of up to 40 people in homes and public spaces in Queensland will be allowed.
Dancing will also be on the cards for weddings of up to 40 people, provided that they have a COVID-safe plan.
Numbers at gatherings will increase to a maximum of 50 people in homes and public spaces, with effect from 1am on December 1.
Allowances at outdoor events will also be increased from 1000 to 1500, along with unlimited dancing at weddings with a COVID-safe plan.
However, Victoria remains closed until community transmission is under control.
More to come.
