  • The Zondo commission is expected to hear Bosasa-related testimony from ANC MP Cedrick Frolick.
  • Frolick allegedly facilitated meetings between Bosasa and politicians.
  • Former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi accused Frolick of corruption during his testimony at the commission last year.

The state capture commission of inquiry is expected to resume on Friday morning with Bosasa-related testimony from MP Cedric Frolick.

Bosasa allegedly used Frolick to facilitate meetings between the company and various politicians.

Former Bosasa executive Angelo Agrizzi, implicated Frolick when he testified before the commission last year. He spoke of the MP's so-called corrupt relationship with the company, which dated back almost 10 years.

On Thursday, the commission heard aviation-related testimony from the premier of the North West, Job Mokgoro, and the former head of procurement at South African Airways Technical (SAAT), Nontsasa Memela.

Mokgoro was suspected of corruption when he was the province's acting director-general. It is alleged that he requested former Premier Supra Mahumapelo's office to pay R50 million for the running of the province's two airports by SA Express, without following proper procurement procedures.

Mokgoro told the commission that he was aware of the procurement processes that were being followed, however, the inquiry's lead advocate, Kate Hofmeyr, rebutted.

She said evidence given by the North West Community Safety and Transport Management Department's chief financial officer, Kutlwano Phatudi, showed that no proper procurement processes were followed.

Memela was questioned on allegations of forgery after JM Aviation director Vuyisile Ndzeku gave evidence in August.
