Kolkata, Oct 2 (UNI) Calling upon the police and administration of the Mamata Banerjee

Government to be "politically neutral" and function as "public servants" rather than "political

workers" to realise the dream of the Mahatma on Gandhi Jayanti, Governor Jagdeep

Dhankhar on Friday urged all to follow his message of non-violence.

Paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti, Mr Dhankhar called upon people

to take pledge to shun violence and promote peace.

" At Gandhi Ghat Barrackpore paid Homage to Bapu on #GandhiJayanti urged all to

follow his message non-violence, " he tweeted.

" Hard earned freedom and democracy can flourish when all abjure violence and promote

free and fair elections @MamataOfficial as it is life line of democracy, " the Governor said.

" On Gandhi Jayanti to realise the dream of the Mahatma I call upon the police and

administration @MamataOfficial to be ‘politically neutral’ and function as ‘public servants’

rather than ‘political workers’, " Mr Dhankhar asserted.

" This is quintessential to survival of democracy and rule of law, " he noted.

Mr Dhankhar said, " Homage to beloved Bapu on Gandhi Jayanti. "

" His noble thoughts of non violence inspire humanity, " he added.

" May Bapu’s ideals keep guiding us in creating a prosperous and democratic environ
