Two more special trains under NFR from next week

Guwahati, Oct 2 (UNI) The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to introduce two more special trains for the benefit of the people of the North East region.

One daily special train will start running between Howrah - Guwahati – Howrah From October 5; while another weekly special train will start running between Silchar – Trivandrum – Silchar from October 8, an NFR release informed here today.

02345 Howrah - Guwahati special will leave from Howrah at 1550 hours daily from October 5 to reach Guwahati at 1005 hours next day.

During the return journey, 02346 Guwahati – Howrah special will leave from Guwahati at 1220 hrs daily to arrive Howrah next day at 0525 hours.

02508 Silchar – Trivandrum special will leave from Silchar every Thursday at 2005 hours from October 8 before reaching Trivandrum at 2240 hours on Sunday.

During the return journey, 02507 Trivandrum – Silchar special will leave from Trivandrum every Tuesday at 1655 hours to reach Silchar at 1900 hours on Friday.

Twelve pairs of special trains are currently operating in the NFR area following the resumption of limited passenger train services.

Passenger trains across the country were suspended in the last week of March following the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic and nationwide lockdown.
