Floral tributes paid to Mahatma Gandhi on his 151st birth anniversary

Puducherry, Oct 2 (UNI) Floral tributes were paid to father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 151st birth anniversary here on Friday.
Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, his Cabinet Colleagues and senior officials of the territorial administration garlanded the statue of Gandhi at the Goubert Avenue.
PCC President A V Subramanian, party functionaries and leaders of different political parties garlanded the statue to mark the occasion.

Puducherry, Oct 2 (UNI) Volunteers of the Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) on Friday resorted to a fast to condemn the assault on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and manhandling Priyanka Gandhi allegedly by Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday, after detaining them, while they were on their way to Hathras village in Uttar Pradesh to meet the family members of the Dalit girl, who was gangraped and murdered allegedly by upper caste men.
