Congress party workers detained for protest in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 1 (UNI) Aurangabad police on Thursday detained several Congress party workers while they were trying to burn a symbolic effigy of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to protest against UP Police's repressive behaviour with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi when he was proceeding towards Hathras to meet the victim's family.

Aurangabad city and district president Hisham Osmani along with other party workers gathered at Kranthi chowk and started chanting slogans against UP government to protest against the brutal gangrape on a dalit woman who later succumbed to injuries.
When they were trying to burn effigy, police took all of them into custody and released them after some time.
