Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal and party workers on Thursday were detained by police during Kisan March from near Mullapur barrier in Punjab.
The police resorted to lathi-charge and used water cannons to disperse SAD workers during Kisan March against the Farm bills.

Earlier, Badal visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Thursday where he led a Kisan March.
The march will conclude at Mohali.
Sukhbir Singh Badal had earlier said that SAD submit a memorandum to Governor with a request to the Centre and President that Parliament sessions be convened once again and the Farm laws be taken back.
"Kisan March will go to Punjab Raj Bhawan. We`ll give a memorandum to the Governor with a request to Centre and President that sessions of both Houses be convened once again and the laws (Farm laws) be taken back. Farmers are protesting against those black laws," Badal said at a news conference
Protests by farmers against the new laws have been ongoing for the past few days over that passage of three laws - The Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Service Act, 2020, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
On September 27, the President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday signed the three agricultural bills, thereby legitimising the farm bills into laws, even as farmers and opposition parties continue to protest against the contentious legislations.
Thousands of farmers in Punjab, Haryana and several other states have been protesting since the government introduced these Bills in the Lok Sabha on September 14, the opening day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the kisan krishi legislations, pointing that it was a 'watershed moment' for agriculture in India. Notably, the central government has claimed that the new agricultural legislation will make it easier for farmers to sell their produce directly to big buyers, despite growing protest from opposition parties over the issue.
The laws replace the Farmers` Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Ordinance, 2020, and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Ordinance, 2020 promulgated on June 5.
