The 30-year-old woman suffered "significant burns" to her legs and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Queensland Ambulance Service acting operations supervisor Brendan Leech said.

One of the children, a five-year-old girl, received burns to her face. The other girl, aged 3, suffered smoke inhalation. Both were transported to the Queensland Children's hospital.

A 32-year-old man was also treated at the scene for minor burns.

"There's still a crew on scene in support of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, who are still at the location, securing the scene and finalising their firefighting efforts," Mr Leech said.

The fire came hours after another, which "extensively" damaged two duplexes at Miami on the Gold Coast, with emergency services called to the scene about 9.15pm on Wednesday.

Residents of both Albion Avenue buildings were able to self-evacuate after the fire spread from one to the other.

Investigations into the cause of both blazes are ongoing.
