Hatras horror: Cong takes on Yogi govt

Lucknow, Oct 1 (UNI) The Congress launched an all-round attack on the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday over the rape and death of two Dalit women which occurred in less than 48 hours in the BJP-ruled state.
The leaders were also agitated over forcibly stopping Rahul and Priyanka and taking them in custody.
Scores of Congress activists protested in different parts of the state soon after Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, who walked on foot towards Hathras after UP police stopped their convoy on Yamuna Expressway, were arrested.
The cops even manhandled Rahul Gandhi while resorting to lathi charge to disperse the Congress workers at Yamuna Expressway and in many other cities.
In Lucknow, Congress Legislative Party leader, Aradhna Mishra `Mona’ and Congress leader in the legislative Council, Deepak Singh along with hundreds of other leaders and workers reached Raj Bhawan and staged a huge demonstration on Thursday evening. They raised slogans against the chief minister Yogi Adityanath and demanded his immediate removal.
The leaders also threatened Adityanath that they were not going to stop fighting against injustice and excesses of the government and dared him to lodge them behind the bars.
Congress Party state administration incharge, Siddharth Priya Sivastava issued a circular soon after arrest of Rahul and Priyanka asking all the leaders to come on road and stage demonstration against chief minister Adityanath in the respective district headquarters. At many places, the agitated workers burnt the effigy of the chief minister.
Earlier the Uttar Pradesh Congress slammed Adityanath for ban on media entry in Hathras. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has banned the entry of media inside Hathras village as the media has presented some important facts from the ground in front of the whole country, said Uttar Pradesh Congress.
"Today Yogi Ji (UP CM) has banned media's entry inside the village because the media presented some important facts from the ground to the whole country. They have also revealed things regarding Yogi Ji's jungle raj. So now the media has been banned," Uttar Pradesh Congress tweeted in Hindi.
