Mallikarjun Kharge expresses disappointment over Babri case verdict

Mallikarjun Kharge expresses disappointment over Babri case verdict

Bengaluru, Oct 1 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member M Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday expressed his dissatisfaction over the CBI court verdict on Babri Mosque demolition case acquitting all the 32 accused for lack of evidence.

Talking to media here, he said that "it is disappointing to hear that all the accused were acquitted for lack of evidence though people have seen the incident on December 6-1992. It seems not correct to give such a verdict on an issue which was witnessed by lakhs of people. This may also lead to erosion of people's faith in the judiciary.

Kharge alleged that "there is no transparency in the acquittal. It is well known fact that Senior BJP leader L K Advani took out Ram Ratha and encouraged RSS karasevaks to demolish the Mosque.BJP was responsible for the demolition otherwise from where such a large number of RSS workers can arrive at the spot all of a sudden."
