Gangtok,Oct 1 (UNI) A total of 38 new Coronavirus cases were detected in Sikkim on Thursday, a senior health department official said.
So far 40 people have died of the infection, most of them with comorbidities, said Secretary Health Dr Pempa Tshering Bhutia.
With the opening of the state borders from today, increase in Covid-19 patients is likely, he added.
The state has 636 active cases, currently.
Out of the 2969 confirmed cases so far, 2294 have been discharged on being cured, Dr Bhutia informed.
