Haryana registers 1,625 new COVID-19 cases, 26 fatalities

Chandigarh, Sep 30 (UNI) With the detection of 1,625 fresh COVID-19 cases in Haryana on Wednesday, the infection tally in the state surged to 1,28,599.

The death toll also mounted to 1,382 in the state after 26 more patients succumbed to the virus in last 24 hours.

According to the department's bulletin, the virus claimed four lives in Panipat, three each in Jhajjar and Yamunanagar, two each in Faridabad, Gurugram, Karnal, Hisar, Sirsa and Fatehabad and one life each in Ambala, Rohtak, Bhiwani and Kurukshetra districts today.

The bulletin stated that among the new cases 282 were reported from Gurugram district, 155 from Faridabad, 142 from Hisar, 134 from Kurukshetra, 119 from Sonipat, 113 from Panchkula, 82 from Rewari, 77 from Rohtak, 76 from Sirsa, 73 from Ambala, 68 from Karnal, 57 from Yamunanagar, 42 from Mahendergarh, 41 from Panipat, 36 from Fatehabad, 31 from Palwal, 25 each from Jhajjar and Bhiwani, 20 from Kaithal, 15 from Nuh and 12 new cases from Charkhi Dadri district.

Of the 1382 fatalities so far, 219 deaths have been reported from Faridabad district, 173 from Gurugram, 106 from Karnal, 91 each from Ambala and Kurukshetra, 86 from Panchkula, 77 from Panipat, 72 from Yamunanagar, 63 from Rohtak, 62 from Sirsa, 61 from Hisar, 44 from Sonipat, 40 from Kaithal, 36 each from Bhiwani and Fatehabad, 27 each from Jind and Rewari, 24 from Jhajjar, 22 from Nuh, 16 from Palwal, 7 from Mahendergarh while two deaths have been reported from Charkhi Dadri district.

Gurugram is the worst-affected district with 20,713 confirmed cases, followed by Faridabad with 19,819 cases, Sonepat with 8,261, Ambala 7,910, Karnal 7,327, Panipat 7,320, Hisar 6,187, Panchkula 5,992, Rohtak 5,924, Rewari 5,710, Kurukshetra 5,645, Yamunanagar 4,181, Sirsa 3,769, Mahendergarh 3,453, Bhiwani 2,746, Palwal 2,596, Jhajjar 2,489, Kaithal 2,439, Fatehabad 2,331, Jind 2,059, Nuh 1,117 and Charkhi Dadri with 611 cases.

Apart from these there are 21 US-returnee Haryana citizens who have been found COVID-19 positive, the bulletin added.
