Itanagar, Sep 30 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh continued to witness spike in Covid-19 cases with detection of 221 new infections, taking the state’s caseload to 9,553, while the fatalities toll rose to 16 following death of a 53-year-old man.
On the other hand, 151 Covid-19 patients were discharged, taking the total recoveries in the state to 6,743. The recovery rate is 70.58 per cent.
Active cases in the state stood at 2,794.
Out of the fresh cases of infection, Itanagar Capital Complex (ICC) reported the highest at 96, followed by Upper Subansiri 20, West Siang 19, Lower Siang 13, Changlang and East Siang 12 each, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS).
Ten each cases were also reported from Papum Pare and Tirap, six from Namsai, five each from Tawang and Kurung Kumey, four from Lower Subansiri, two each from Lower Dibang Valley (LDV), Lohit and Siang, one each from Longding, Pakke Kesang and Leparada, it said.
Of 96 cases from ICC, 36 reported from Flu clinic, TRIHMS, Naharlagun, 19 from paid quarantine testing centre and 14 from RKM Hospital here, nine from SQF, Lekhi, seven from Frontire pvt lab, Naharlagun, six from testing centre CCC-SOA, Zoo area here, four from Banderdewa chack gate and one is NDRF personnel.
All the cases from Upper Subansiri were reported from Flu clinic, DH-Daporijo, while of the Lower Siang are primary contacts of positive case detected earlier.
According to the bulletin issued by the DHS last night, a 53-year-old Corona patient with comorbidity succumbed to the infection on Tuesday at 1050 hours.
Out of the 151 discharged, highest were from ICC at 47, followed by Papum Pare 32 and Changlang 11.
