Odisha reports 3443 new Covid cases, 14 deaths

Bhubaneswar, Sep 30 (UNI) As many as 3,443 new Covid infection cases and 14 deaths were reported during the past 24 hours in Odisha.

Health and Family Welfare department sources said the Covid tally in the state went up to 2,19,119 while the death toll rose to 842 today.

Out of 3,443 cases, 2,017 were reported from the quarantine centres and 1,426 are local contact cases. As many as 12 districts in the state reported more than 100 positive cases.

Khordha district registered the highest number of 601 cases followed by Cuttack (359), Balasore

(152), Mayurbhanj (141), Puri (132), Sambalpur (131) and Jajpur (130).

The Covid tally in Khordha district has gone up to 37,560, highest in the state followed by Cuttack (20,520), Ganjam (20,151) and Puri (10,014).

On the other hand, Ganjam district has reported a maximum number of 220 deaths followed by Khordha (134), Cuttack (70), Puri (56), Sundargarh (40) and Rayagada (37).

Official sources said, 32,50,999 tests were conducted in the state till midnight of September 29 and 2, 19,119 of them were found infected with Coronavirus.

While 1,81,481 Covid patients including 3,896 reported on Tuesday were cured and discharged from the hospital, 36,743 active cases are under treatment. The Covid 19 has so far claimed 842 lives in Odisha.
