Mandis fool-proof ready against Corona

issued by the Punjab Government regarding corona in the mandis across the district during the paddy procurement season.
This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Deepti Uppal who told that a total of 106 procurement centres have been set up in the district, while 26 more temporary mandis are being set up in the mandis to prevent any congestion in the mandis in view of Corona epidemic. There should be no problem and any kind of crowd should be avoided.
She said for the corona testing of the farmers and labourers present in the mandis, mobile teams have been arranged which are working by dividing the mandis as per the block tehsils.
Apart from this, the Punjab Mandi Board has provided Sanitizers to the Market Committees which are bound to provide the labour and staff under their control to the Commission Agents registered in the Mandi. D.C. said before the arrival of paddy for the sanitisation of mandis, Sodium High chlorite was sprayed. She said apart from the mobile teams, all the regular and temporary mandis of the district have been connected with the nearest health centres and joint teams have also been formed for better coordination between the mandi board and the officials of the health department.
District Mandi Officer Arvinder Singh said in various tehsils through Commission Agents and Mandi Board officials the health department was conducting labour tests. Under this, tests have been conducted today in Nadala Mandi, Begowal, Dalla and Bholath besides Kapurthala sub division mandis.
