Third FIR filed against AIMIM president of Bhiwandi

Thane, Sep 29 (UNI) The Thane police have filed the third FIR against the president of Bhiwandi unit of AIMIM Khalid Mohammad Mukhtar Ahmed Shaikh alias Khalid Guddu for allegedly trying to extort money from the residents of a building.
The fresh First Information Report has been registered under sections 385, 506 and 34 of Indian Penal Code with the Bhiwandi police station against three people, including Guddu, and one of them has been arrested recently, police said.
In 2015, two co-accused, Nizamuddin alias Nizam Shabbir Ahmed Momin and Riyaz Ahmed Mohammad Idris Ansari (both residents of Bangalpura), had upon instructions from Guddu filed a writ petition in the Bombay high court praying to raze a building in Smadnagar for being an illegal construction.
Three years later, in 2018, when the residents of the building met Shaikh, he had demanded Rs 35 lakh for withdrawal of the writ petition and for protecting the building from demolition.
Hence, the present complaint was filed which has been converted into an FIR by the police, who later arrested Momin.
Shaikh is presently in the custody of the Crime Branch of the Thane police, who are looking out for Ansari.
Police have already registered two FIRs against Shaikh for allegedly demanding money from local developers at gun-point in 2014.
A few of his associates have also been arrested in connection of the crime, sources added.
