Original copy of "Maila Aanchal" authored by Phanishwar Nath 'Renu' stolen

Patna, Sep 30 (UNI) The original copy of famous novel "Maila Anchal", authored by Phanishwar Nath 'Renu', a pioneer of regional languages in literature, was pilfered along with some other original copies of his novels here late last night.
Some thieves broke into the house of the son of the late writer and former MLA Padma Parag Renu, in Rajendra Nagar locality under Kadam Kuan police station on Tuesday night and stole the original copy of "Maila Aanchal" along with "Parti Parikatha", an incomplete novel "Kagaj Ki Nav" and his 12 other books.
An FIR was lodged at the Kadam Kuan police station in this connection. The matter is being investigated but no arrest has been made so far.
Dr Renu was conferred with Padmashree in 1970 for his contributions to Hindi literature.
"Maila Aanchal" was one of the famous novels of Dr Renu which was being made into film titled "Dagdar Babu" by Navendu Ghosh but remained incomplete due to the demise of the writer.
However, a TV series made on "Maila Aanchal" was telecast on Doordarshan.
The novel was also translated in to English, Russian and Marathi languages.
