6,133 fresh cases of Coronavirus reported, 48 die in AP

Vijayawada, Sep 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh reported 6,133 fresh cases of Coronavirus positive in a period of 24 hours while 48 more patients died.

A health bulletin here on Wednesday said that 71,806 swab samples were tested during a period of 24 hours of which 6,133 were tested positive for Coronavirus taking the total number of positive cases to 6,93,484.

With the death of 48 patients in a period of 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 5,828. Large number of deaths have taken place in Chittoor district (655), East Godavari district (524), Guntur district (531), Anantapur district (487), Prakasham district (484) and West Godavari district (453).

There are 58,445 active cases in the State while 6,29,211 patients have been discharged from hospitals as they recovered.

East Godavari district has stood top in reporting highest number of 97,274 positive cases while 61,858 cases were reported in Chittoor district, 57,375 cases reported in Anantapur district, 66,707 cases reported in West Godavari district, 50,028 positive cases reported in Visakhapatnam district, 56,158 positive cases reported in Kurnool district and 52,335 positive cases reported in Nellore district.

Significantly, the recoveries (7,075) are higher than fresh cases in a period of 24 hours in the State. 58,06,558 swab samples have been tested so far in Andhra Pradesh.
