Five persons accused of the murder of Puzhal Prison police officer, A Inbarasu, surrendered before a Thanjavur court on Tuesday. Inbarasu (29) was found dead in Chengalpattu on Monday.

The police suspect his relatives’ hands in the murder over previous enmity. His sister-in-law’s brother, P Varadharan (30), is one of the suspects who surrendered in court. It is said that Varadharajan had assaulted Inbarasu’s brother, Anbarasu, a clerk at the village panchayat office, for stalking his sister. Following this, Inbarasu had picked up an argument with Varadharajan.
Meanwhile, five suspects -- P Varadharajan, S Senthil (27), S Johnson (23), A Rajadurai (29) and M Vignesh (24) -- surrendered before the Judicial Magistrate court on Tuesday. The Magistrate, Moses Sebastian, who heard the case, ordered judicial custody of all the accused till October 5. Subsequently, they were lodged at the central prison Tiruchy.
