Parties make suggestions to Election Commission

Patna, Sep 30 (UNI) Political parties of Bihar today suggested measures to Election Commission for free and fair state Assembly Elections.

Representatives of various political parties during their interaction with full team of

Election Commission headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, suggested measures required to be taken to ensure free and fair Assembly Elections.

Main opposition party in Bihar RJD suggested for insurance cover of all electorate so that they could exercise their franchise freely without any fear during Corona pandemic. Separate booths should be created for oppressed and minorities even if number of electorate from these communities

were less, RJD demanded.

The party also suggested for deployment of paramilitary forces at sensitive booths.

While LJP favoured number of electorate to be fixed to 400 to 500 while RLSP suggested to limit the voters to 250 at one booth. BJP demanded from the Election Commission that movement of boats in rivers should be stopped before 24 hours of polling for fair elections.

JD(U) demanded that Election Commission should use its machineries to deliver voter slips to electorate.

The party also wondered how it could control if number of people increased spontaneously during door to door campaigning as the only five people had been allowed by the Commission.

JD(U) also expressed its concern over the fact that party would not be in position to restrict the number of people if they spontaneously reached.

Election Commission also interacted with senior officials to assess administrative preparedness for free and fair Assembly Elections.
