Williams begins her attempt to win a 24th Grand Slam title by facing Kristie Ahn on Monday in a rematch of their all-American first-round meeting at the U.S. Open. Nadals bid to add to his record 12 French Open championships and to equal Roger Federers mens mark of 20 Grand Slam singles trophies starts against Egor Gerasimov of Belarus. Also on Chatrier: Reigning U.S. Open champion Dominic Thiem will face 2014 U.S. Open champion Marin Cilic; Thiem beat Cilic en route to the title in New York this month.
