Basmati selling below last year’s rates in Punjab

This season, rates of two major kharif crops in Punjab, cotton and basmati are below last year’s prices. Both crops are bought primarily by private players, though cotton is included in the 23 crops for which the Union government announces minimum support price (MSP).
