Agriculture law reached the Supreme court, Congress MP filed a writ petition to withdraw the law

Protests are continuing across the country over the agricultural legislation passed by both houses of Parliament and signed by the President. In Karnataka, Punjab, and Delhi, where opposition and peasant organizations are protesting against the law. At the same time, Congress MP from Kerala TN Pratapana has approached the Supreme Court against this. He has filed a writ petition to withdraw the law in the court.

Congress MP TN Pratapan has filed a petition against the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020. Pratapan has challenged the constitutionality of sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 13, 14, 18, and 19 of section 32. The Congress MP says that this is a violation of Articles 14, 15, and 21 of the Constitution.

TN Pratapan's lawyer Ashish George, lawyer James P Thomas and lawyer CR Rakesh Sharma will appear before the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, a day after President Ram Nath Kovind signed the Agriculture Bills and legislated them, the Punjab Youth Congress set fire to a tractor in the India Gate area to protest. The police have arrested five accused and started investigating the case.
