Manoj Bajpai-starrer Bhojpuri rap 'Mumbai Mein Ka Ba' has made its home in the hearts of Biharis overnight. In this app, which came just before the assembly elections in Bihar, smoldering questions asked from the system in the context of the plight of the state and migrants of the state are now appearing through other means. For the past three decades, the politics centered on the issue of Jungle Raj vs Good Governance has now intruded into Bihar. Behind the intransigence of the 'ba in Bihar' issue between Jungleraj vs, Good Governance is the youth whose mood is currently a puzzle for political parties.
What's new in this election
The question is, what is new in this election? Clearly, political parties are following their three-decade-old pattern of the pre-election coalition on their agenda and caste equation. New is just a quarter of the state's young voters, of which half the population is neither brought up by the alleged 15-year-old jungle raj nor the political definition of perceived good governance of 15 years is being embraced by them.
Ethnic mobilization or society will change
Many slogans were raised, but the politics of Bihar could not come out of ethnic mobilization. Although many parties did the garden breaking the ethnic boundary, the reality was that the importance of caste in politics remained intact as before. Just like new equations between different castes kept getting worse. For example, from 1990 to 2005, Lalu Prasad Yadav gained power with the support of large sections of backward castes and Muslims.
The MY (Muslim Yadav) equation worked well. In 2005, with the support of backward castes and figures, Nitish and BJP abolished Lalu's political emperor. In this election too, the NDA and the Grand Alliance are busy beating each other.
Youth will play a decisive role
In this election, the youth has remained a puzzle for political parties, because their number is one-fourth of the state's population is 39 crores below 39 years of age. Of these, the number of voters below 29 years is 1.70 crore. These voters have the ability to change the result of more than a hundred seats. Both the Rashtriya Janata Dal-led Mahagathbandhan and the NDA are clamoring to woo this class.
Bihar CMs are usually giving long speeches. Elder elders are putting their point in front of the youth in detail. Appealing to him about the alleged jungle raj of Lalu Prasad's tenure. On the other hand, RJD's face is raising the issue of unemployment, migration, education sector plight among these youth.
Caste equation
In the nineties, Lalu had tremendous support from the backward and Muslims. Due to this, he remained the head of the politics of Bihar for a decade and a half. Later, a series of parallel polarization of other backward castes started against the parties involved in the OBC. After the rise of Nitish in the politics of the state, these backward castes mobilized with him. After the alliance with the BJP, three fourth backward castes came from the NDA apart from the next castes. On the basis of this equation, Nitish dominated the politics of Bihar for a decade and a half on the lines of Lalu.
How the results can be affected
The reshuffle of results is possible only when the RJD-led grand alliance includes other castes other than Muslim Yadavs. The RJD has been out of power for 15 years. But the truth is that Muslim Yadav always remained with RJD. In this election, Muslims and other castes other than Yadav will also be associated with the RJD. In contrast, if the other backward castes and next castes with the NDA remained with the NDA as before, the results would not change.
