Filmmaker Karan Johar took to social media and broke his silence on the ongoing drug probe. He clarified that neither he consumes narcotics nor does he promote usage of any such substance. His statement came after an old video from one of his house parties started doing rounds on social media.
In his statement, KJo wrote, “Certain news channels, print/electronic media and social media platform(s) are wrongly and misleadingly reporting that narcotics were consumed at a party that I, Karan Johar hosted on July 28, 2019 at my residence. I had already clarified my position way back in 2019 that the allegations were false.”
“In view of current malicious campaign, I am reiterating that the allegations are completely false and baseless. No narcotics substance were consumed at the party. I would like to unequivocally once again state that I do not consume Narcotics and I do not promote or encourage consumption of any such substance,” he added.
The filmmaker also distanced himself from Kshitij Ravi Prasad and Anubhav Chopra who were questioned by NCB on Thursday in relation with the drug-nexus in the Hindi film industry.
“Chopra was briefly associated with us for only two months in the capacity of 2nd assistant director for a film, between November 2011 and January 2012 and as assistant director for the short film in January 2013. He has thereafter never been associated with Dharma Productions for any other project,” the director said.

On Dev Anand’s 97th birth anniversary (he left us on 3 December 2011), a viewing of his 1965 classic Guide assumes the mantle of an ode. Spend some time in the company of Guide and you won’t regret it.
Guide is not exactly what anyone would call ‘joyous.’ It gives you a Dev Anand you had never seen before. The film (with Waheeda Rehman headlining one of her career’s most stellar performance, not to forget the absolutely knockout dances that elevate Hindi screen to a classical stage) is a spiritual bridge between Anand’s frothy romcoms (Taxi Driver, Tere Ghar Ke Saamne, Nau Do Gyarah etc) and noirs/thrillers (Baazi, Kala Pani, CID etc).
