Sanitation staff can’t be sacked: Telangana HC

A division bench of Telangana high court on Thursday told the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to regularise jobs of thousands of sanitation workers, who are made to work for a pittance through deceptive methods like outsourcing and contract modes. The HC made it clear that the civic body has to pay them minimum time scale wages and cannot remove them arbitrarily.
