Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam are back, in a new avatar in 'Ginny Weds Sunny' trailer. From the looks of the new promo, they are ready to provide the audiences with some comic relief in a masala entertaining film.
Vikrant's character is introduced as a romantic who does not think before taking action. Yami, on the other hand, is the complete opposite of that. Both of them have been trying to get married - but while Vikrant finds a girl who believes it is better to wait, Yami asks her parents to stop bothering her because she wants a love marriage.
Both the characters are introduced in a disco outfit. As fate (and Vikran'ts willpower) had it, they end up together, only to fall apart sooner in hopes to meet again but without creating a disaster around them. Vikrant is also heard saying that he is lemon while she is milk, and together they form paneer (a metaphor for disaster) in life.
There are a few comic relief moments in the form of their parents too (much like 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' or 'Badhaai Ho'). The popular song 'Saawan Mein Aag' too has been recreated for the film, and the disco outfit was for the song.
Ginny Weds Sunny is directed by Puneet Khanna and produced by Soundrya Production and Vinod Bachchan. The film, also starring Ayesha Raza, Suhail Nayyar, Isha Talwar, Rajeev Gupta, Menka Kurup, Mazel Vyas, Gurpreet Saini, is slated for October 9, 2020 release on Netflix.
