Bollywood drug probe LIVE Updates: Karan Johar's 'drug party' on NCB radar, celebs can be summoned

The NCB sources reveal that Karan Johar's alleged drug party is under the agency radar. The party was held in 2019 and was attended by many A-listers.

The Narcotics Control Bureau is likely to investigate Karan Johar's alleged drug party, which was held in 2019. The party was attended by the who's who of Bollywood, including actors like Deepika Padukone, Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Zoya Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor and Malaika Arora, among others. The celebs can be summoned by the NCB soon.

Earlier, the NCB revealed that Deepika Padukone was the admin of a WhatsApp group for drug chat. The actress's manager, Karishma Prakash, and Jaya Saha were also part of the group. Karishma was grilled by the NCB today. Deepika has been called in for interrogation tomorrow.

Rakul Preet Singh in her statement to the NCB confessed to talking to Rhea Charaborty about drugs. The actress told the Narcotics Control Bureau that she kept drugs with her, but didn't consume it. She said that it was for Rhea. Rakul was called in by the NCB for questioning today morning. The actress was followed by Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash to the agency's office. They were confronted with each other regarding their connection with the alleged drug controversy in Bollywood.

The NCB has summoned actresses like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh for questioning in drug probe linked to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

At 4:15 pm: The NCB sources say that Karan Johar's alleged 2019 drug party is under the radar of the agency. The celebrities who attended the party - which include Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Malaika Arora, among others - can be summoned by the NCB for questioning. In 2019, former Delhi MLA and Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa had filed a complaint against the Bollywood stars for allegedly consuming drugs at the party. Karan had posted a video on Instagram from the party. The filmmaker had called all the allegations baseless.

At 3:05 pm, Rakul Preet Singh has reached her residence. She was grilled by the NCB today.

At 2:45 pm, The Narcotics Control Bureau has said that Rhea Chakraborty was arrested due to her links with the drug traffic network. Read full story here.

At 2:30 pm, The NCB revealed that Deepika Padukone was the admin of WhatsApp chat group for drugs. Karishma Prakash and Jaya Saha were part of the group.

At 2:20 pm, Rakul Preet Singh has left the NCB office. The actress's name cropped up in the drug probe after Rhea Chakraborty confessed talking to Rakul about drugs.

At 2:10 pm, Rakul Preet Singh confessed to talking to Rhea Chakraborty about drugs. She told the NCB that Rhea left the drugs at her home. Rakul emphasised that she never consumed it.

At 1: 40 pm, After Kshitij Prasad was summoned by the NCB for questioning, Dharma Productions' ex-employee, Anubhav Chopra, was also called in for questioning. The NCB is probing his involvement in the drug controversy. He is said to be close to Kshitij Prasad.

At 12:20 pm, The NCB made Rakul Preet Singh and Karishma Prakash confront each other. They are shown chats of Jaya Saha, who confessed in her statement to the NCB the involvement of Rakul Preet and Karishma.

At 11:50 am, Kshitij Prasad reached the NCB office with the officials. A drug peddler revealed his name claiming he was a regular customer. The NCB will now probe if Kshitij would buy the drugs for himself or anybody else.

At 11:15 am, A team of NCB officials is at Dharma Productions' employee Kshitij Prasad's Mumbai home. Kshitij is an executive producer at Karan Johar's company. He is likely to be taken to the NCB office for questioning today. On Thursday, the NCB conducted a raid at Kshitij's home. He was in Delhi yesterday.

At 11:00 am, Deepika Padukone's manager, Karishma Prakash, arrived at the NCB office.

At 10:30 am, Rakul Preet Singh reached the NCB office for questioning. On Thursday, she denied receiving any summons from the NCB. Later, the NCB officials reached the actress's home to issue the summons. The actress accepted the summons.

At 9:40 am, Rakul Preet Singh left her home for the NCB office in Mumbai. The actress will be grilled by the agency in connection to the Bollywood drug probe. According to the NCB sources, the agency retrieved Rakul Preet's drug chats with Rhea Chakraborty. The actress in her statement to the NCB also confessed the involvement of Rakul Preet in the drug controversy.

Deepika and Sara, who were in Goa, returned to Mumbai on Thursday for the probe. While Deepika, Sara and Shraddha are called in on September 26 (Saturday), Rakul Preet Singh, who earlier denied receiving summons, appeared before the NCB today (September 25).

Karishma Prakash's WhatsApp chats with Deepika were retrieved by the NCB. In the chats, they are discussing drugs. Karishma was in Goa and therefore couldn't come for the questioning earlier.

On Thursday, designer Simone Khambata was grilled for 4 hours. Apart from the Bollywood actresses, Simone's name also cropped up in the drug controversy. She was close to Rhea Chakraborty.

The NCB has also summoned Kshitij Prasad, Executive Producer at Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, for questioning tomorrow. He was summoned for questioning on Thursday (September 24) but as he was in Delhi, the director will be joining the probe today (September 25) at 11 am. The NCB conducted a raid at the director's home in Mumbai.

The NCB have found out that around 50 names, including many actors, actresses, producers and directors, might be involved in the Bollywood drug controversy. A Bollywood actor, who hosts drug parties, is also under the NCB's radar.

Earlier, the agency questioned producer Madhu Mantena Verma and Kwan Talent Management Agency's CEO Dhruv Chitgopekar for hours.
