Indices near day's high; Auto, Metal stocks gain

Sensex gains over 500 points, Nifty near 10,950

The benchmark indices are trading around the day's high at noon trade on Friday. The Nifty is up 1.2 per cent at 10,934, and the Sensex is trading 1.2 per cent higher at 37,002.

The Nifty Smallcap and Midcap indices are trading up 1.7 per cent and 1.3 per cent respectively.  The top sectoral gainer in the Nifty pack is IT index gaining as much as 3 per cent. With a 2.1 per cent rise, the Nifty FMCG index is the other gainer.

The Nifty Auto, Nifty Metal, Nifty Pharma and Nifty Realty are trading up 1.5 per cent each. 

HCL Technologies is the top Nifty gainer, rising up 5.3 per cent and BPCL is the top laggard, trading down 2.5 per cent.
