NEW DELHI: Nifty Auto index was trading on a negative note at 02:39PM (IST) on Thursday.
While Ashok Leyland (down 8.56 per cent), Tata Motors (down 6.66 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 6.32 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 6.17 per cent) and Bharat Forge (down 3.6 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty Auto index was trading 3.56 per cent down at 7417.15 around 02:39PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 287.15 points at 10844.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 989.5 points at 36678.92.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 3 were trading in the green, while 47 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Route Mobile Ltd., Apollo Hospital, Syngene International Ltd., Hathway Cable and Ruchi Soya Inds hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Raj Rayon Industries Ltd., Mittal Life Style Ltd., Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Granite Ltd., Sumit Woods Ltd., Libas Designs Ltd., Kuantum Papers Ltd., Adroit Infotech Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd. and Mindpool Technologies Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
