BOSTON --- The Red Sox have set their starting rotation through the final game of the season on Sunday.

Chris Mazza is filling the lone open spot for Boston in Friday’s series opener at Atlanta. Martin Perez will start the home finale against the Orioles on Thursday while Tanner Houck and Nick Pivetta will wrap up the three-game set against the Braves.

Red Sox starting pitchers entered Wednesday with a 3.15 earned-run average over their last 16 games. Nathan Eovaldi, Perez and Houck each didn’t allow an earned run in their last turn. Mazza was charged with a pair of earned runs in four innings against the Yankees while Pivetta debuted by allowing one earned run in Tuesday’s 8-3 victory over Baltimore.

"Being able to have a solid mix of four pitches – which I showcased tonight pretty well – is what we’ve been working on," Pivetta said Tuesday. "It paid off tonight."
