Indices off day's low with Nifty above 11,150; Grasim up 1%

Benchmark indices are trading with losses in the noon trade on Tuesday.

The Nifty index was down 0.75 per cent at 11,167 while Sensex is down 0.66 per cent at 37,782. The Bank Nifty was trading down 0.4 per cent at 21,281. The Nifty Midcap and Smallcap indices are trading down 1.5 per cent and 1.8 per cent respectively.

The Nifty Pharma index is the only sectoral gainer; up 0.6 per cent. The top sectoral laggard was Nifty Media index; trading down 2.9 per cent.

Nifty FMCG, Nifty Metal and Nifty PSU Bank indices fell between 1 to 1.8 per cent.

In Nifty constituents, 35 stocks out of 50 are trading with losses.

According to traders, the global market selloff has been triggered by several factors such as reports about likely irregular financial dealings involving some of the major international banks, and the fears of the pandemic rising in a second wave in many parts of Europe.
