
The cyber cell of Kolkata Police initiated a probe against a dating app for using Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan’s picture without her consent to promote the app. Jahan was alerted by one of the Twitter users following which she alerted Kolkata Police about the app. She pointed out that her picture was being used without her consent.

“This is totally unacceptable using pictures without consent. I would request the cyber cell of Kolkata Police to kindly look into the same . I am ready to take this up legally,” Nusrat Jahan, who is also an actor, tweeted.
Her picture was by the app with the caption “Make friends in lockdown staying at home” . Kolkata police officials said action would be taken under the purview of Information Technology Act. The app claims to have one million users. It further claims to make instant connection of its users with random people and make friends globally.
