FALL RIVER - Swansea resident Claire (Leary) McMahon and classmates from the former Saint Louis School, in Fall River, met recently at the Kennedy Park pavilion for a socially distanced reunion. COVID-19 interrupted their monthly breakfasts.

The graduates, from the classes of 1954-1957, brought their own picnic lunches, placed lawn chairs in a wide circle and visited for more than three hours.

The friends grew up around Kennedy Park. In the winter they ice skated and went sledding; in warmer months, they caught pollywogs. They attended Saint Louis School, which opened in 1905, at the corner of Eagle and Division Streets.

The Diocese of Fall River shuttered the Saint Louis Parish in 2000. The Gothic Revival church building was demolished in 2010.
