Jockey McDonald thrown from Everest favourite Nature Strip at Randwick
The Everest favourite Nature Strip has sensationally dumped jockey James McDonald coming out of the barriers in a crucial barrier trial at Randwick on Monday morning.

The Everest favourite then continued around the outside fence and did another lap before being caught by trainer Chris Waller and Charlie Duckworth. The TJ Smith winner didn't appear to exert himself during the extra effort.
McDonald was quickly back to his feet and rode in the next trial. He said the horse had never done anything like that before and that he hit his head on the barriers, which caused him to come over.
There will be interest what action the stewards take over Nature Strip's barrier manners. He could be forced to trial again before his next run in the Premiere Stakes at Randwick on October 3.

John Singleton and Gerry Harvey-owned sprinter Libertini was impressive winning the trial.
