After director Anurag Kashyap was accused of sexual misconduct by actor Payal Ghosh last Saturday, more celebrities have come out in support of the filmmaker, including his former wife and actor Kalki Kanmani.
Kalki shared a note on Instagram in which she asked Kashyap not to pay any heed to the ‘social media circus’ around him. “Dear Anurag, don’t let this social media circus get to you, you have fought for the freedom of women in your scripts, you have defended their integrity in your professional space as well as in your personal life. I have been witness to it. In the personal and professional space, you have always seen me as your equal. You have stood up for my integrity even after our divorce, and you have supported me when I felt unsafe in a work environment even before we got together. This strange time where everyone gets to abuse one another and make false claims without repercussions is a dangerous and repulsive one. It is destroying families, friends and countries,” a section of her statement read.
Ali Fazal recently extended support to fiancee Richa Chadha after her name was dragged into the Anurag Kashyap-Payal Ghosh controversy. My partner, your resilience, your kindness, and empathy have touched many people, and I have had the fortune of being witness to that over the time I’ve known you. The battles you’ve fought to create an equal society which isn’t fractured by hate.”

Irrfan Khan's son Babil took to Instagram and wrote, "It's a shame that an invaluable movement like the #metoo is misused in such a malignant manner against a person that has actually inspired equality in an excruciatingly patriarchal industry. We now live in this strange age where it is easier to create a 'truth, and not manifest the truth. I pray that we evolve."
He added, "The concern is that the metastasis of baseless accusations through the #metoo movement would ultimately diminish its credibility and women that genuinely need its support would be left in the dark, it is painful."

In a recent interview with ETimes, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said, "Nepotism is everywhere. But I would say more than anyone the audience is responsible for nepotism. Because the audiences go and watch their films. They make it big and no one else. "Harr Baap chahega.. apna beta aage jaye. apna business sambhale as he can't believe any other outsider. But see the beauty of this industry that despite of this thinking, there are a number of actors who are coming in and are doing well in the field. They get established well in the industry. They get recognition. So this blame game should stop. The way everyone is highlighting Bollywood as a dark industry by saying that all the awful things are done here is wrong. In fact, the Bollywood industry is so aware that each and every actor or director or writer speak up on the smallest issue. They support the government in their initiatives and what not. No one in Hollywood does this. So saying bad things to Bollywood is a little bit harsh I feel. Because if we show our industry in a bad light, the new talent who are eyeing Bollywood will step back thinking, 'Bollywood mein toh Murder hote hai, Drugs lete Hai, Ganja Peete hai'. So this insider-outsider debate and talking about nepotism should stop."

The Bellbottom team was surprised when action star Akshay Kumar broke his 18-year rule of working only 8 hours a day and recommended a double shift for the Bellbottom cast and crew. The actor realised that producers would lose money if they didn't finish the movie on time.
The Bellbottom cast and crew had to quarantine for 14 days after landing in Scotland. Producer Jackky Bhagnani said in a statement, “Akshay sir is truly a producer's actor and it has been a privilege to work with him. He is constantly thinking about everyone and everything. From safety measures for the entire unit to shooting schedules to the challenges faced by producers - the man is pure gold. Akshay sir is doing a double shift for the first time in 18 years. So when he suggested two units we were absolutely stunned and excited at the same time. And seeing his work discipline and respect for time, everyone on the sets is super energized and also pitching in their best. It's like well-oiled machinery working round the clock to make this happen."
